What Age Should a Person Be Considered an Adult?

When will people stop being a kid? Nowadays, many countries stipulate many different age of a person be considered an adult. Most countries set the age of 18 as an adult, but it is not a right age. In fact, it is no doubt that 21-year-olds is the best age for be an adult. There are some powerful argument for a person should be considered an adult at 21that people have physical and mental maturity, are able to take responsibility for their own behavior and reach the legal age of smoke and drinking.
Firstly, people have physical and mental maturity at the age of 21. In this age, most of people study in college, they learn a lot of knowledge which grows their mind and makes their psychology mature. They know what is the right direction, rather than as an innocent child do anything by follow the emotion. Also, they have mental maturity in the year, they can do anything what they want to do without any limit. It really is a suitable age that people have all the necessary conditions for adulthood.
The second reason why people should be considered an adult in 21-year-olds is they are able to take responsibility for their own behavior. “In studying scans of the adolescent brain, neurologists have learned that when kids are around the age of 18, their prefrontal cortex is only halfway developed. This is the area of the brain that helps control impulses, solve problems, regulate emotions and organize behavior,” Savedage said.(2015). In 18-year-olds, people are impulsive and easily influenced by emotions. They just do something without thinking and are not able to take responsibility for their own behavior. Until the age of 21, this kind of behavior has been reduced.
