What The National Anthem Means to Me
The National Anthem means to me, individual freedoms and great pride and responsibility to be an American citizen. When I’m singing the National Anthem at a basketball game or football game it gives me this feeling, that I’m not playing the game just to play it, I’m playing it because I am a free American who is given the right to play a sport invented by great Americans. I reason that when singing the National Anthem there comes great joy, but there also comes a considerable amount of responsibility. When becoming an American citizen there’s the obligation of respecting and following the great laws this nation has set for us to abide. I think this Nation is one of the most noticed Nations. Just as the Anthem says in most of its verses the United States will go through thick and thin but in the end will always prevail under any circumstances. Just as it says in the fourth verse of the United States Anthem “O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand”, wherever an American is at either in Texas the Lone Star State or Connecticut they are all welcome because we are under one nation the United States.
