XAVOTSAV 2014
Xavotsav 14 the annual fest held by St. Xavier’s College Union was well spread over 3 days with on-stage and off-stage events with events ranging from chess and debate to fashion show and dance.
It was not all work and no play, in the evening they had guest performances from a Turkish DJ Stefan Addo (day 1), Parikrama (day 2), DJ Girish (day 3) and Sunburn (Miss 9) (26/1). These events were to relax the participants as well as the working committee who had worked hard for the entire day with the aim to bring something new and exciting to everyone who had come to watch the fest.
With events like live reporting that ended in 15 minutes to events like treasure hunt that went on for 2 days showed the innovativeness and their vast thought process.
DAY 1
The day started with a lot of chaos as it was the first day and it was taking time for the events to start and the people to find out the exact location of the event but then it’s a college fest and things like these keep happening and it was much better the next day.
XAVOTSAV started with the inauguration ceremony and the fest was declared open.
The next in line were off stage events like chess and carom in which took part and stood Lazer tag was a new and funny event where the participant had to shoot the other participants with a laser gun (not real of course). Took part inTreasure hunt was an event which started on the first day and ended on the third day which included tasks such as making a presentation and delivering it to the audience and selling a 5 rupee pen for as much as 20 rupees. Personally I felt that it was an event to check the all round ability of a person.
