The school system today does not allow students to use the creative side of their mind very often. Author Sir Ken Robinson, describes in a video how schools kill creativity. He explains that as education grows, students lose a significant amount of creativity because no one wants to stand out. The school system today is on a straight forward path. There is not a wide variety of subjects that are taught in schools, which does not allow students to be creative in their studies.
To begin, Sir Ken Robinson believes that the concepts and changes of future education are not yet understood. The environment and people that students are around, influence how they think, which in turn influences their creativity. With the school system not allowing students to find their creativity, it brings out fear within the student. Society has made its citizens a certain way over time to think in a respectable and presentable manner. This potentially wipes out any chance of thinking in a creative way because people have to stay within society’s standards. Therefore, it is almost as if standing out and expressing creativity is a bad thing because society has frowned upon differences.

It can be a huge disadvantage because it may cause students to have difficulty being successful in college. It also makes it difficult to be a great employee. However, in the workplace it is very beneficial to have a creative side.

This is not a good way to make kids think or feel because children with conditions like these are sometimes the most creative people in the room. They need to be taught at an early age that it is acceptable to use their own ideas, and sometimes go “out of the box” and be creative. Kids with ADHD have such fast paced minds that they can think in many creative ways. Why would one not want to see or hear the ideas that come from a creative mind? Therefore, children with ADHD should not be told that there is something wrong with them, but instead that they should be creative.
Additionally, in Sir Ken Robinson's video, there was a little girl that could not stop moving around, so naturally everyone around her thought something was wrong with her. Her mother took her into the doctor's office to get her on medicine. The doctor assessed her and they found out that she just likes to dance, there
