Throughout the years there have been numerous advances and innovations in technology; some of the major changes include: advancement in war-like technology, changes in medicinal technology and also luxury/practical innovations also found their way into society.

As of the 1700’s technology had already come a long way considering on where they started. While they are not as advanced as civilization is now, they at least had basic forms of technology that helped them in times of crisis. During the mid-1700’s Britain and the new blossoming America had went to war in the hope of earning their freedom. Of course they would not have been able to do this had they not had guns, wagons or even ships. With constant fighting through the world such as the constant battles taking place in the struggle for Africa and Latin America. More recently however in 1914 we made a huge leap in war-like technology, as there were planes being made for fighting, more advance guns and also a new fighting machine called a tank. With all of these new machines and devices it is not surprising to say that people can usually adapt and innovate in times of crisis.

With all of the wars taking place and more and more people getting injured in it fighting for their lives, it was a necessity to advance the technology that people were using to take care of others. People came from using alcohol as a means of anesthetic to developing morphine and other drugs to take the pain away for those more serious operations. Also with the wounds the need for antibiotics were needed to fight the bacteria that could be infecting others due to an untreated injury. Another innovation came with better surgical tools, instead of using the rusty hatchet near you, you would actually have tools designated for surgery purposes.

Finally one of the biggest industries that took to innovation was the field of recreation and practical matters. Back in 1750, there was not really any means to entertain one’s self with technology other than pushing a wheel with a stick. Moving through history there was the invention of the sewing making which made making clothes so much easier and fast. Also there was one of the most important inventions of all time, the railroads and cars. Without railways trading over long distances would have taken so much longer than if people had to still walk on foot. With a car average people could travel around and get to places much faster and easier than they would with a horse drawn carriage.
