The clues that show something terrible would happen in this film is when the family first reading the newspaper and listening to the radio about the Jews were being relocated from their homes to somewhere else. When the Jews reached to their new location, they ended up living in horrible conditions. They were all put in one bedroom, where they all had share share a room, with very little food. The Jews were sent to a location what is known as the Warsaw Ghetto. The whole segregation aspect was just a cruel thing because the Jews were seen as less of a human. The Aryans knew what they were doing to Jews, it all just required certain steps that led them to malnourishment, and death.

Szpilman was the main character who faced many challenges in the film. Szpilman is a strong character and it’s known in the the beginning in the film because when all the Jews were ordered to leave he told his family he wasn’t going to leave and it showed that he was brave and courageous. Szpilman in way wanted to protect his family. Szpilman had to sacrifice everything in order to stay alive. When he survived he spent time working with other Jews, which was a little difficult for him seeing that they barely ate and was only working. Even though he is getting aid from his friend, it was also hard for them to come by often to bring him food. As a result Szpilman suffered from Jaundice, in which he lacked a lot of vitamins in his body that showed on his skin.

The most emotional part in the film would have to be when Szpilman runs out to the Russians and is so happy he is being saved. The saddest part for me when i thought he was actually going to be shot by the Russians, if he hadn’t talked back to them and told them who he really was they it could have been
