Why is History Important?
Our world has been alive long enough and everyone before us has made many mistakes. Imagine if you didn’t have accounts of history and you made those mistakes over and over; and you keep making them because you don’t know what past people did wrong. Now imagine that you do have accounts of history and you wont make the same mistakes that people made in the past.
History is very important for many different reasons. When you have a baby the doctor asks for your family’s medical history. He asks this because if one of your families has disease they can know to look for that. That can help you in the long run. Cause if you didn’t the doctor would have known where to start with or a little of background of possible things you can get.
Another reason why history is important is so you know important figures. Everyone knows who Christopher Columbus is, but what if you didn’t know his name or it was just made up. We wouldn’t know who actually found are country. Or George Washington who won the revolutionary war for and was are first president. You wouldn’t even know his name and his monument could be named after anybody it could be named after you.
Finally, history is important so you don’t repeat history. And make the same mistakes that are elders did. In war we can see how not to do things and how the past military battles failed and how to make them right so you don’t do that again. If we didn’t have history, we would keep making mistakes over and over. Always, things that cause cancer or things that are poisonous, such as red dye 5, lead, and asepsis. If we didn’t have history, we will would still be using those things today and would still be getting lead poisoning and kids getting cancer.
