Business Communication

When it comes to business today communication is a crucial element of functionality. There are multiple ways of communication in almost all business aspects such as verbal, e-mail, telephone, and even sign language in athlete’s line of work. Proper communication and collaboration makes everyone else’s job easier as well as yours. Sending the proper message depends on your execution of proper communication.

Being a sales associate at multiple car dealerships required a vast array of business communication with not only the customer but sales management as well. The simple communication of knowing what was in inventory or what vehicles we had access to across town was very helpful in managing daily activities. Sales meetings helped everyone to collaborate on where we were at for the month as well as popular strategy techniques with a diverse group of customers. These meetings also brought to our attention popular vehicles at the current time and showed us how to make sales on them quicker to raise revenue.

The meet and greet when dealing with potential customers was the key to my pay as well as company profits. When dealing with people in the sales industry you must communicate with them in the proper manner. You must build a trust or bond with them per se. It helps to build a good will with them as well ( Lundin, Paul, & Christensen, 2000.) Letting them know they aren’t just a number to you is vital.

When communicating with customers it is important to gather as much information as possible about what exactly it is they are looking for. This allows you to think about your inventory that was discussed in the meetings that were held earlier in the day. Knowing this and the customer’s needs allowed you to put them on the exact vehicle they were in the market for. It was also important to know everything about the vehicle and to thoroughly explain every feature to them.
