Discuss and Analyze the ethical issues reflected in the case.

British Tobacco Giant, British American Tobacco,is a common name for both who do smoke or donot smoke. Pallmall, Mallboro, Benson and Hedges etc, the famous brands are popular in young to old.
BAT, the famous business are doing some unethical and illegal deeds for attracting people. Even now-a-days, their target customers are young generation. For achieving profit, they are breaking their own marketing code.
According the case, We are going to describe ethical issues related factors of BAT.
- BAT, In Malawi, uses celebrities lifestyle to attract young generation. They sponsor music event where celebrities wear embassy or pallmall brands goods. It is one type of cultural imperilism where young generation will carry their culture in future.
- In BBC’s “world program”, chris proctor the head of science and regulation of BAT, admitted that their advertisements and tactics are also continuing in these areas, people are already aware about negative effects of smoking. So we can say, BAT is still in reaction satge.
- BAT set lavish prizes in these areas where only 10% of people are smokers and where smoking is still taboo, so that people buy cigaretts. It can harm their culture and even can be destroyed.
- BAT’s most impressive strategy to attract young people of selling single cigaretts because young people can not afford a full packets. In Mauritius, For making it easy, BAT distributes to shop and In Malawi and Nigeria, people see posters with price of a single cigarettes.
- Most precious success of BAT in these young target achieving is shown in Africa. Only 11 years old young are absorbing the habit of nicotin.
- In Mauritius, Though cigarette advertising banned. BAT found new policies that they painted local shop in away that shows the same colour of Matinee.
- When we went into organization, we found Mr proctor as whistleblower. But tried a lot to make them understand about these unethical issues. Ethical decision makin in this organization is totally follw the upper level command.
We can see a lot of unethical deeds are done by BAT, according to this case, Where business treated as an human being with every responsibility there BAT is playing with culture, young generation just for making profit.

Analyze the activities of BAT using the normative ethical theories and find out whether these activities are right or wrong.

British American Tobacco does focusing on the outcomes. BAT focuses individual desires or self interest when decision making.
We can see, For promotional expantion, they are violating regulation in Maurtius. Shops are being painted intentionally for advertising and postering of single cigarettes with price.
