Recap of “Interior Café Night”

The short film depicts the story of a second chance at love. The film begins with a parallel depiction of a young and an old couple. Soon, we realize that the couples are the same people i.e. the movie is showing certain scenes in flashback. The flashback scene shows the fateful night the young couple was separated due to the girl moving abroad with her family. The pain of separation is immense for the boy. He seems to have thought over every other alternative only to realize the harsh truth that nothing can be done. The girl is shown to be handling the separation better than the boy. In the present day scene, the couple has a peaceful, simple reunion which adds an extra depth to the prevailing emotions. The girl moved on and had a family of her own, while, the boy remained the same. The film now delves into the what-ifs and the if-nots of the situation. This jolts the boy, now a man, into taking a leap of faith and thus, their love story gets a second chance.

Issues depicted in the film

The main issue shown in the film is that of distance and the power of distance. The film puts us to think as to which is stronger- love or distance?

The couple had accepted their fate of separation because of the belief that the distance will make keeping in touch impossible. It has to be kept in mind that the story of the couple is from a long time ago wherein distance was a valid problem. Unfortunately, even in today’s age, the problem of distance has not been eliminated completely. Thousands of young couples are separated because of this one reason. While the couple in the movie got their second chance, in reality, most of couples don’t get that opportunity. As a part of this millennial generation, I realize that the causes of distance are now, more often driven by personal choices of higher studies, job opportunities. This was not the case earlier when decisions taken by one’s family were the driving factor in creating distance.

Business Proposition

The issue depicted in the film brings me to my business proposition. My idea is to create a network that helps cut down the distance for couples. My plan is to create a support system for couples who wish to stay together despite the physical distance. In the following paragraphs, I have extensively analysed each of the aspects concerning the idea so as to explain it better.

Business Model

No matter how strong a couple’s love is, physical separation inevitably brings a certain element of negativity into the dynamics of the relationship. I believe, to overcome these problems, some sort of external support is required. That is where my idea comes in.

From gifting solutions, to creating travel arrangements, any sort of external support required by the couple, we will provide it. Our business proposition will be- ‘Let us take care of these external factors, you focus on the emotional aspects of your relationship.’

Certain obvious features will be those of sending across gifts, cards, chocolates etc. What my idea can do more is help the couple in making travel itineraries to destinations that are midway for both the boy and the girl. Not just limited to this, I wish to build a network that will help me in providing specially curated services to all my clientele. Each couple’s love is unique and so is their story. Thus, I do not want to create a service that gives everyone the same options.
