Using the organizational fitness criteria described in Lecture 2, quote any ONE application area (e.g. AIMS, ARRO) inside City U and then assess the degree to which City U is suited to evaluating big data
Answer :
For my choice, AIMS in City U will be selected as the application area that I would like to judge whether AIMS inside City U is suited to evaluating big data or not . I do think AIMS inside City u is suited to evaluating big data. Before we come to the conclusion, we have to judge with five core elements as the considerations before using BDA which are feasibility, reasonability , value, integrability and sustainability.

First for the feasibility, we have to see that City U’s AIMS is aligned in a way that allowing new and innovative technologies to its university , tested out and vetted without tremendous bureaucracy. AIMS in City U does allowing new and emerging new big data technology to be brought into City U , tested out and vetted out . For example , AIMS in City U is always updating and adopting new internet and big data management techniques every year so as to let the system of AIMS be more well-equipped, also, AIMS in City u is often testing its system’s functions to see whether it is running okay or not. So we see the AIMS’s maintenance team is doing great to create feasibility for AIMS to evaluating big data .Therefore , we, City U’s students are very easy to access different information or getting updated information though AIMS , like the student residence information and our degree works and our student personal information and get these updated every year . Second for reasonability of AIMS, it is doing great too. For this aspect, we have to consider whether AIMS faces business problems whose resource requirements exceed the capability of the existing or even planned environment. I do say yes for this related consideration , AIMS is relying on data as we can see. It will be more data-centric and requiring augmentation of resources necessary for reporting and analysis, in the near, medium and long-term environment. For example, AIMS in City U has a data-updating system regularly each year for collecting and concentrating all the data , so reaching a higher level of data centric ,which is the level of City U to rely on data to do analysis and reporting. Another example would be like AIMS is always updating its data mining system like the speed of processing data like from every single student in City U , so we see it will be more data-centric in near or medium or long term period as a consideration of reasonability.
