Coke Vs Pepsi to soda giants who have had the soda industry for years, who is number one who is the second best. We all have our opinions because we all have our favorites my family especially I have a brother who works for coke, and a brother in law who works for Frito Lay which is a Pepsi Co. company. “Coca-Cola has won the cola war. Coke has an extensive line of sodas that are house hold names like Coke, Cherry Coke, Sprite and Bargs root beer. Let’s just take a second and admire the pure genius that is the share a coke with campaign, when this first came out people were searching the shelves to find their names and other bottles and cans. Turning around posting it on social media with various hashtags it gained attention and recognition for the brand it was pure genius. “The Coca Cola Company gained global value share in our industry in 2014, increasing our share of the total amount spent by consumers on nonalcoholic beverages. On a structurally adjusted comparable currency neutral basis, we increased net revenues 3 percent and operating income 6 percent we also grew unit case volume 2 percent.” (Coke Annual Report) It is clear that they have had a successful year in 2014 they made it clear in the annual report that they are not satisfied by those results and they are pushing to have a better year in 2015. With the new partnership with Monster energy drinks and the reintroduction of the popular soda SURGE that my generation of adults are so excited about because of the nostalgia of our child hood it seems like they are going to have a more successful year.
