Both the Work Culture and Ethics activities presented a lot of insight into what I can look forward to as I develop my career plan. They both gave me a starting point as to what characteristics I should focus on in my career goals. I definitely agree with the results from the Work Culture Preferences activity. The results suggested I would prefer a leadership intensive work environment. I consider myself to be a natural leader and being in a position of leadership is one of my top goals. In my career, having to manage others instead of getting managed myself is ideal. Of course by being in charge, others will see my role as important. I work hard and put much effort into my duties therefore I always want to be recognized for my contributions and performance. A career that offers security and stability is also a preference result I agree with as well. I surely don’t want to work where I would have to be worried about getting switched out or replaced. Job security will contribute to my personal responsibility which will enhance performance for the better. Yes, effective study habits and techniques can influence success in my preferred work cultures. Development of time management skills, critically thinking, and creating the best environment for study all can carry over into my career. Positions of leadership definitely have no place for rushed decision making. Critical thinking is key to ensure decisions have carefully been thought out basing them off solid evidence. Time management is also necessary for success in my preferred work culture. I know that in any leadership position, there will be many goals to accomplish and most likely in a small amount of time. Having a detailed plan similar to the SMART goals chart will keep me focused and on task.
As identified by the ELI my ethical perspective is reputation and results. I listen to my intuition to determine the greatest good for each individual and the character traits that will best serve the community.
