I was watching the Florida Gators game at home drinking some juice one November day when memories of a trip I took to my Aunt’s place in Jonesboro started flowing in my head. The day that my aunt invited me to her place in atlanta was one that i'll never forget and always be thankful for. I was going through a rough time at home, and her invitation gave me a chance to get away from the negative energy around me. Little did I know that one simple trip would make me learn to not take everything so seriously, and that taking a break every once in a while does a lot of good.
The night before my flight, I was just packing my clothes and making sure I had my essentials. This trip was planned on short notice, but I was fortunate to have my ticket taken care of, thanks to my cousin Reginald, who works at Delta Airlines. I kept my luggage down to a few bags. One was my father’s old, green, navy duffel bag, still durable despite it being nearly twenty years old. in the service. I’m a video game fiend, so of course I had to bring my Playstation 3. just arrived at Jose’s. Que, looking like a modern day Luke Cage, was blasting some tunes on his iPod, knocking out b-boy moves in the driveway. Jose, looking like Al Pacino with his black slacks and leather jacket, had just come out of his garage. We shot the shit for a couple of minutes and loaded up into his grey, and in serious need of a wash, Rav 4. The Rav was cool, but there were some problems with the air conditioning, which led the inside of the truck to start smelling like hot ass and onions whenever Jose turned it on.
We decided to get some food and fuel first, so the local am-pm was our first destination. I believe it was a late Friday Night, so of course the gas station was packed. We pulled up to the sight of a group of drunken females screwing around, sounding like they were preparing for the club, or whatever. Long story short, whoever ran into them would have an “interesting time,” to say the least. Que was about to headed toward them, but retreated once he caught a whiff of weed from one of the girls.
