Everybody has someone that they look up to, someone that inspires them, and someone that makes them want to be a better person. Most people would consider that person as a hero. Hero’s don’t always wear capes and fight off evil like you see in movies or read in comic books. Some heroes are just normal people. A hero is someone that has a big impact in your everyday life.

My hero for instance would be my mother. She is the most independent, brave, and strong-willed woman that I know. She always puts mine and my little brothers needs before her own. Growing up with a family that didn’t have a lot of money makes things very difficult at times. No matter the circumstance though, my mother always found a way to provide for us. She did everything in her power to make sure we didn't have to go without, even if that meant she had to. It made me feel awful sometimes, because I know she gave up so much just for us.

Three years ago, my father started having an affair. Even though I know it hurt my mother more than I could ever begin to explain, she still held her head high through the whole thing. She never let me and my brother see her cry. Every time she was about to, she would go to her room. She once told me; “I have to be strong for you and your brother, even though it hurts. I just want you and your brother to be happy.” I know that situation really took a toll on her, but her being able to stay so strong through it all really amazed me. I admire her strength more than anything. I hope that one day I can be as strong as she is.

To this day, my mother still amazes me. She has gone through more stuff than I can imagine, and she only seems to get stronger each time.
