ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to focus on the safety of the financial markets. Over the years, there have been changes in various regulations and monetary policies. There is vast literature regarding the recession, making it difficult to go through. The UK derivative markets has been dominating the world’s derivative market since 2008. With the safety of the financial markets. The oil bubble in 2007, financial turmoil in 2008 raised questions on many fundamental issues that needs immediate attention. Another reason that could put on the table is the banking crisis, followed by Eurozone crisis. The gaps in the literature is identified and the researcher tried to address them.
The researcher used Independent Commission on Banking’s final report, and Sir Richard Lambert’s proposal on creating a new professional body for a better regulation of banking community to deduce links to safety. The researcher in this research studies the perception of various financial experts in the industry dispersed among various organizations having different age groups. The researcher hopes that, understanding the perception of safety in the eyes of a professional might open new doors for more triangulated research to address the financial crisis.
The researcher used qualitative research methods, and used semi structured interviews to gather data from the respondents. The researcher felt the need for reason rather than numbers. The researcher used deductive methods to come to a conclusion based on the answers he received from the respondents. Based on the research conclusion, the researcher made a few recommendations to make the markets a better and safer place.
