ABSTRACT
This paper aims to describe our standpoint that Google Glass, as a form of assistive technology, will be able to help tackle medical emergency cases. We are focusing on the application of this technology for the organization: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in the healthcare industry of Qatar. This includes understanding the need for emergence of this technology, factors that effect the effective application of it, and the product being better off than the current competitors in the market. Our team developed a business model with a balanced scorecard that clearly describes the aftereffects of its implementation and considers the safety issues that are related to it.

INTRODUCTION
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has the vision of providing state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment to the patients. The Application of Google Glass for Medical Emergencies is a tem project that is focused on improving the emergency cases in the healthcare industry of Qatar. This is because HMC is the only public sector emergency unit in Qatar. Hence, with the increasing population, there will be a saturation of doctor availability at the hospital, during certain parts of the day. In order to avoid this, our team realized that employing more staff is not the solution. Instead, the solution lies in improving efficiency and accuracy through technology (in our case, Augmented Reality - Google Glass).
Augmented Reality
Augmented reality is a new technology that has been sought after by many organizations and companies around the world because of the potential of the technology. AR is a technology that synchronizes the real world with the digital media. It allows for the displaying and the overlaying of the real world with digital information that adds a context and meaning to objects, places and even people. By overlaying real life with digital text and imagery you can produce a new experience for the users. This technology has been used in gaming and marketing to create unique ways of delivery of information while correlating with real world. However with new technologies such as Google Glass you are given the opportunity to experience augmented reality visually and in audial format, producing a complete augmented reality experience that blurs the line between the real world and the digital.
