No one can deny a good teacher has strong effects on students. Students not only learn knowledge but also learn ethic attitude from their teachers. The following three points are important characteristics of a good teacher: patience; knowledge; and responsibility.
First, teachers should be patient with all students. When students are learning, they will encounter many problems. Being patient, a good teacher should answer and explain all of the questions. Moreover, when students do not pay attention or talk to each other, teachers need to be patient to deal with all students. Therefore, patience is an important characteristic of a good teacher.
Secondly, being knowledgeable is important for a good teacher. A good teacher always searches for new methods and ideas to teach students. For example, in English class, the teacher should know the subject very well, use new teaching
methods, and give students new knowledge. A good teacher not only relies on the textbooks but also gives students extra information, such as share life experiences or news around the world. Thus, knowledgeable is necessary for a good teacher.
Thirdly, good teachers need to be responsible for everything in class. A good teacher should make sure all of the materials are correct because course materials are the most important way that students can learn. Also, a good teacher has responsibility to check students' homework. If students have mistakes on their homework, teachers need to tell students the correct answer and help students to understand.
A good teacher has strong effects for student, students always rely on their teacher, for materials, information, and other needs. In conclusion, I think the most important characteristics of a good teacher are patience, knowledgeable, and responsible.
