Investigating and Problem Solving

When investigating a problem of this magnitude I will begin my research on the internet looking at what have been causes of the illness in question in the past. I would be looking for articles that relate the specific illness with a cause. If I found some articles that were similar to what we are experiencing in the community I would then dig deeper into the causes that were found in that particular case and follow were they traced the cause too looking for parallels in the case I was working. Once the internet research was down I would have a great idea were to bring my investigation to the next level.

Most likely, if I did find so similarities I would need to research if corners were cut in construction or in the layout of the community. I would head to city hall and talk with the planning office and request plans and papers from them outlining how the community was built. Here is where I could find out if there was something built here years ago that maybe is no longer there. I can also do research by talking with the people that work in the planning office about old projects that may have happened long before the development was in place.

When thinking in regards to this project there are some obstacles that you must overcome when using your critical thinking skills. The biggest one would be emotion even though your friends or family maybe involved you need to look at things in a very logical manner and make sure that you are excluding and adding things for the right reasons because they make sense to your investigation. When looking at this research you need to be sure that you stay focused on what you are trying to accomplish. In this particular research if there is really something making people sick then when you start to research and ask questions you will be raising red flags and you need to be sure that what you are saying is factual and has merit and the research to
