My personal definition of justice is: Justice is something that should be given to both the victim and the family. Justice in the court of law is about getting a fair trial and making sure justice is served. Many people have different definitions of what justice actually is I also believe justice is all about equality. We are equal in the eye of the and all deserved to be treated that way no matter what the crime is as I stated before justice is not for the family the victim definitely deserves it as well. I believe the real definition is in the word itself “Justice.”
Formal definition: scheme or system of law in which every person receives his/ her/its due from the system, including all rights, both natural and legal. One problem is that attorneys, judges, and legislatures often are caught up more in procedure than in achieving justice for all.
After reading the scenario how do you define the word justice? Both of the brothers decided to kill themselves due to one brother’s illness. I believe in this case that justice was because both brothers planned to commit suicide and that mike was dying, I believe the other brother got what he deserved. It may sound weird, but he was I fact helping his brother with situation they both had planned. He felt the way mike tried to kill himself was not working quickly enough; therefore, he decided to speed up the project.
I do not believe he should have taken his brother’s life I believe that he should have let nature take its course and let the tranquilizers kick into mikes system I feel that eventually mike would have died the way he wanted to. We all have to think, this was not a premeditated murder everything was planned between the two brothers they wanted to die.
As the prosecutor, I would charge Dale with manslaughter thinking about every aspect of the case. I do not believe this was unlawful killing I do not believe Dale woke up that day and planned to kill his brother, everything was planned out between the brothers Dale just speeded up the process. Mike wanted to die therefore, in Dales eyes he was helping his brother out with the process. He knew that his brother did not want to live with cancer therefore, he thought he was helping I am sure he meant his brother no harm. We cannot speak for Mike however, I am sure his brother Dale knew him better than anyone else and Mike would have wanted this for himself seeing that mike wanted to die.
