God is hidden from people and only speaks to people through prophets. | Christians also believe that there is one God God exists in three persons – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit Christians believe that God is holy. Christians believe that God has revealed himself through Jesus (Son) and that people can speak directly to God and have a personal relationship with God through prayer. |
Beliefs about Jesus | Jews believe that Jesus was an important teacher, but Jews do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah, Savior, or God. | Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus was sent by God the Father to die and save people from their sin. |
Beliefs about Salvation | Jews believe that the only way to earn God’s favor is by doing deeds and by following strict rules like God’s commandments. Salvation through the Law and Works By following strict rules and by doing good deeds, men can work their way into heaven. | Christians believe that the only way people can earn God’s favor is believe that Jesus is the Son of God. In order to be saved, Jews must receive forgiveness for their sins. Salvation through Grace Salvation is by the grace (goodness) of God through faith in Christ.
