Lost Without Technology

It all happened so fast. The second I felt nothing my soft denim pocket my stomach dropped. My heart started racing and all of the sudden what seemed like a good day turned into panic and desperation. I checked every pocket twice and that’s when I accepted the cold hard facts, I lost my phone.

My day was going as normal. I opened my eyes up to my eggshell white wall and lifted my head off of the soft cloud-like temperpedic pillow. I groaned knowing I had to roll out of bed and begin my day. I did all of my morning routine just like any other day, checked my phone, scrolled through twitter, took a shower, got dressed, and ate breakfast. Then it was time to hurry out the door to begin my day full of adventures with my friends.

As I arrived in town I met up with my friend Adam. As usual, we found a random friend of ours, Dylon Engle, and he brought a basketball to the park. Soon the warm blacktop was filled with the sounds of laughter, the ball dribbling, and 16 feet running up and down the court. After 3 games to 21, we were burnt out, covered in sticky summer sweat, and chugged about 2 bottle of water each. As I was gathering my stuff to leave and go to the local grocery store to pick up a afternoon snack, that’s when I realized my phone was no longer in my procession. My day skipped the turn for the worse and when straight to the highway to hell.

I immediately panicked, which the worst thing I could have possibly done in that situation. I ran around the basketball court looking under every shirt, shoe, and every other article of clothing. I asked all my friends if the saw it. I called the police to see if it was turned in and to report it stolen. I called Verizon to deactivate the phone.
