Abstract
This paper will research Microsoft Corporation and provide an overview and history of Microsoft Corporation. It will also provide an analysis of Microsoft business success and a few of their failures. This research paper will look into of the reasons for their success and explore the possibility for their continued future prosperities. The paper will give an insight on their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and discuss how they position themselves against their competitors.
The research for this paper will also discuss Microsoft’s product and how they determine their prices. It will explain how Microsoft uses their promotion strategies to generate revenue for the company to ensure success for the organization. Also, in this research paper, it will discuss how Microsoft branding beats out their competition and what they need to do to stay ahead of their competitors. The paper will discuss how important it is for Microsoft to identify who their target market is and what they can do to continue their competitive advantage in the market over their competitors.
Introduction
Computer users are looking for software developers such as Microsoft that are trustworthy, secure and who makes a effort to effectively address any security threats that may arise. Microsoft Corporation is a leading software developer company of personal computer software that was originally created to make operating systems for the Altair 8800 system. Since then, Microsoft has made many benchmarks in the market place (Microsoft Corporation, 2015). Microsoft uses a rigorous software process that focuses mainly on security threats that may affect the software programs. By addressing these threats effectively, Microsoft can gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace, which can be beneficial to their success and allow them to rise to the top of the market. When Microsoft stay on top of the security vulnerabilities, it improves the protection of the software users privacy and keep consumers satisfied (Microsoft, 2012).
Mission Statement
Microsoft mission statement states that their mission is to empower people and businesses throughout the world, to achieve more (Microsoft, 20157). Microsoft mission statement is a reflection, of the company’s vision statement, when it comes to their computer technology and software business. Their mission statement is aimed towards empowerment, for every person, every organization, in the world that they achieve more. The components of Microsoft mission statement show what Microsoft’s products can do for their customers, their target market and how their software and computer technology can greatly benefit their customers in achieving more. The mission statement highlights the global market scope and general ideas about how Microsoft products and services benefit their customers ( Microsoft, 2015).
