When employees of USPS are living daily life, they are expected to act the same as if they were at work. At times this may be a very hard thing to do in the world we live in. Many times socially people are put in very hard situations, but as a federal employee the person must rise above, and do what is right. Losing a job would should be a very good motivator to do the right thing, but in some cases it is not.
Being an employee of USPS should make doing the right thing easier. Letting peers know up front that you are a federal employee, and there are many things that you can and will not do. Most people would understand how important a person’s job is to them, and would not try, and hurt a person’s career. Personal decisions should be much easier to make when the outcome may hurt your job. Knowing the standards you have given on and off the job give a person a road map to how they should act.
As an employee for USPS legally you could find yourself in a great deal of trouble by breaking the rules. Legal and ethical almost go hand in hand.
