For the longest time, I have had a growing interest in pursuing a career in criminal justice. I studied Forensic Science and plan on completing course work in Homeland Security this year with the CCTE program within the El Paso Independent School District. I also participated in athletics in high school. I played for the high school basketball team for two years at El Paso High School. I realize that I must pursue a four year college education which will begin the fall of 2013. I am very excited about my future and feel that with the opportunities that your scholarship will provide, I can actually give back something to our country by saving many lives and putting away the serious criminals within our society.

I will also have the opportunity to experience Skills USA this fall with the Homeland Security program. This program teaches hands on leadership skills used within the criminal justice fields. I found that I enjoy all of these aspects within the field of criminal justice and I believe I have what it takes to eventually become a U.S. Federal Marshal and eventually be on the U.S. Federal Marshall SWAT team.
I look forward to attending Sam Houston State University in the fall of 2013. Your college represents everything that I am looking for to learn about Criminal Justice. I want to save lives and keep criminals off the street as a career. To reach this, I need as much help as possible. I already have the support of my family and friends,
