It amazes me that life can come in various forms, shapes, colors, and functions; however, something that blows my mind every time I think about it is, even though life is absolutely diverse, it comes and works together to establish a special balance. I had always wondered why life was so different from each other and I did not realize it until we reached the genetics unit in seventh grade.

I was obsessed with the idea of the collaboration of miniscule things creating a big difference. I decided to begin exploring genetics and realized how much more there really was to learn. We have only scratched the surface of the role of genetics in developmental biology. There always seem to be more questions than answers even though we have answered so much. I feel I can delve into the recent findings of genetics and never see the other side. The findings in this field hold substantial implications for all of us and can potentially shed light on many other aspects of biology.
