The College Experience
For starters my name is Josh Reid. I am a 23-year-old single male born and raised in Altoona, Iowa. My parents are divorced, and I have an older brother named Nick. He also lives in the local area with his girlfriend of 7 years along with their two dogs.
My hobbies mostly revolve around outdoor activities. Anything from fishing to hunting or just taking a simple cruise on my bicycle. Lately I’ve been taking every chance I can get to be outside. Winter is almost here and I am not too thrilled about it.
After multiple failed attempts at finding a “career job” and doing a term in the United States Air Force, I decided it was time to head back to school. I’ve had multiple jobs that payed well, they just weren’t a good career move. While at my current job I was offered to be sponsored to attend the GM ASEP program at DMACC. After researching and talking to co-workers that attended the same program I realized that this was it. I had finally found an education program that I was excited about. A program that guaranteed me a job before, during, and after school. Also a program that is hands on and involves automobiles, something that I thoroughly enjoy.
I feel like I am at a good point in my life now. I was so caught up on finding a career job and getting the ball of life rolling. Now that I’ve got my foot in the door at school I’m realizing more and more day by day that I’ve finally found my niche.
