There are six cases to prepare for group discussion (i.e., all of the cases). Candidates
will be evaluated on their active participation in all discussions (cases, exercises and
discussion questions).
The objectives of a case discussion are:
To discuss the issues in the case
To determine the criteria for making a decision
To analyze the options available (if applicable)
To decide the best plan of action
To present your findings to the large group (if called upon to do so)
Each of the cases presents a supply chain situation in which a decision must be made in
a particular context, and in light of a number of trade-offs and alternatives. During the
first session, time will be devoted to best practices for preparing a case discussion.
While there are no right answers to a case, there are definite approaches that address the
issues and recognize the trade-offs involved.
For each of the cases there will be discussion questions. These questions are for
guidance. They are to aid in discovering the important aspects of the case. At a
minimum, candidates should be prepared to address each question in class; however, the
