‘Part A’
Before the training Need Analysis, following are the factors that we will consider to determine the training needs:
- Structure of the company
- Capital of the company
- Identify whether the needs are training needs or management issues
Training Need Analysis
Step One – Identify Problem Needs:
- Loss and damage of Parcels
- High Turnover of Employees
- Numerous vehicle Breakdowns
- Growing number of customer complaints
- Branches Not meeting their sales budget
Step Two – Collect Data:
- Since the problem is vast, both the top level and the lower level should be involved in the collection of data. The Data can be collected by using a questionnaire (Annex A)
Step Three – Analyze Data:
- Determining solutions for the data collected by analyzing the data.
- Conduct qualitative analysis: Human Behaviour
- Quantitative analysis: Performance Analysis
Step Four – Provide Feedback:
- Write report and make oral presentation
- Determine next step – training needed?
Step Five – Develop Action Plan
- In this case, the employees may need training on handling the parcel correctly, using the vehicle used to carry the parcel in such a way that the parcels don’t get damaged.
- Time Management
- Handling customer grievances

Questionnaire
- What Kind of courier services does the company provide
- Road b. Rail c. Air d. Water
- Describe the type of transport vehicle to be used providing the requested courier service. Does this vehicle have a maintenance record?
- What Kind of training have the employees received so far?
- On an average what the distance covered for delivering one parcel?
- Does your company provide electronic invoicing?
- What notifications does your company require for following: pick-up/delivery and proof of delivery?
- Does your company conduct a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) on employees?

You have noticed individuals
- Working Long Hours
- Getting Side Tracked by Interruptions
- Taking too many jobs
- Failing to meet deadlines
