Cybercrime is not as common as it used to be these days. Cybercrime has been around since the
80’s but not people know more about cybercrime and the people that are involved with the
crimes. There has been a lot done to prevent cybercrimes over the years but the criminals still
have the upper hand. Something that could be done by the companies would be to involve law
enforcement to help with the fight against cybercrimes. Now days, the cybercrimes are
connected to illegal activities. Several issues around this type of crime has supported an
important profile primarily against hacking, copyright and infringement, for the better part of the
cybercrimes could be based in two particular categories. Crimes that pin point computer
networks or specific devices and crimes facilitated by computer networks or devices are the
prime objection of which is separate of the computer network or devices such as cyberstalking,
fraud and identity theft. Over several years, the cybercrimes have been growing but some
people believe that the global recession will cause the rise of cybercrime on a worldwide level.
Within this paper, it will discuss the types of scams that are associated with the cybercrimes,
what might the profile be for a cybercriminal who commits this type of cybercrime, the steps that
law enforcement initiatives to combat this crime and the possible penalties for committing these
crimes.
Now days in the business world the economy and national security have developed a very
profound dependency on the internet, and will continue to be effected by cybercrime. Since the
internet can be so accessible to malicious codes, people trying to make money, the cybercrime
will keep on increasing. If there is a way for money to be made then there is a way for
cybercrime to continue to occur, cybercrime should not be allowed to scare people concerning
their confidentiality and wealth. One important step that should be made is to increase the
possible resources so we can defend the security of computer systems including the internet.
There should be a team effort combined with individuals, organizations and the government to
protect everyone from any possible cyber-attacks.
The internet has become an important part of everyone’s lives in this day and age. There are
several types of cybercrimes now days that we are exposed to out there that we may not be aware
of. There are so many different types of scams out there these day that if not computer literate
then it is possible that the scam is not visible to people right away which would possibly make
