Introduction

“Water boarding has been around since before the Roman Catholic tribunal which began around 300 A.D”,( library.thinkquest.org)so in other words it has been a tradition and an effective way of interrogation for literally almost two thousand years. For those who do not know what water boarding is,” it’s a form of interrogation that simulates drowning.” (www.npr.org)

Body

(1) The way water boarding is conducted is one of two ways

∙ they put a bag over your head, and throw you in a tank of water with a gate on top of it and pull you out right before you go into shock so that you don’t stop breathing,

∙ or the more traditional way were they tie you to a plank, and put a cloth over your mouth, and pour water were your mouth should be until you pass out, then they push or sit on your stomach until you throw up the water, and repeat the process until you give in.

(2) Water boarding is only conducted on people who are in the sense “bad people” and you don’t feel bad doing it to them under the impression that they would do the same or worse to you if they switched the situation.

(3) Water boarding is not lethal unless it is deliberate, the person(s) undergoing the interrogation exercise only experience a simulation of drowning not the actual thing.

∙It is so closely monitored that there is no possible way that the prisoners will receive any harm.

∙So if the victim dies due to the process of water boarding it is considered murder, not a vigorous attempt at water boarding.

(4) This method of interrogation has been sanctioned by the U.N as one of the most humane forms of interrogation due to the fact that the victim doesn’t receive any bruises or scars from it, but it does physically and mentally strain them into a state
