Having a pet that enjoys the great outdoors can increase a person’s opportunities to be more physically active. Whether it is taking your dog outside to go to the bathroom or out for a walk, this is a good way to get a little exercise. If you have children, having a pet that goes out can also help keep children active outdoors, rather than in the house on a game system. Another benefit to having a pet is the constant companionship, especially for individuals that live alone. As we get older, loved ones either move farther away and visit less often or they pass away, so having a pet can help feel less lonely.
