"A Bronx Tale"
A Bronx Tale directed by Robert DeNiro tells the story of mobster Sonny who is the tough guy in Calogero's Bronx neighborhood. Calogero witnessed Sonny shooting a man to death after a confrontation with one of his guys. This is the starting point of a lifelong bond between Sonny and Calogero. Calogero's father Lorenzo, who is a bus driver, disapproves of their bond. Calogero grows up under the wings of both Sonny and his father, he is torn between his own natural morality and his attraction with Sonny. Calogero's neighborhood friends get involved in robberies, the use of guns and racial altercations. When Calogero meets a black girl, things don't become easier. Calogero's jump to manhood is filled by tragedy, but also by his appreciation of the many faces of love around him.
One of my favorite scenes that stood out to me the most was when Sonny got shot and killed for a crime he committed a long time ago. Sonny is the outcast in this scene because he doesn't know what is going to happen to him. The lighting that was used was dim lights except for the red lights on Calogero and the white light on Sonny. This scene was shot at an eye level, lots of faraway angles and close up when Sonny was getting shot in his head. A special effect that was used was slow motion because you couldn't hear anything that's going on all you heard was the voice over of Calogero and what he wanted to do.
