Career Development

Kirk Layne was born into a family of musicians and lovers of music. Layne started his life in music from a young age, from playing his first instrument the diamonica, to performing at church and competitions, to being a bass guitarist.

Kirk Layne was born into a family of musicians and lovers of music. Layne started his life in music from a young age, from playing his first instrument the diamonica, to performing at church and competitions, to being a bass guitarist.  He has travelled the world on tours excluding Afghanistan playing for many popular artist, he has also gotten to record on DVD playing with another bass guitarist, recording Grammy award winner Victor Wooten. Kirk Layne also owns a music school ‘K1 Music’ and teaches at Barbados Community College (BCC), he is also planning to finish his album ‘Gospel According to Bass’.
