An issue that seemed to only be relevant back when racism was mostly at its peek is actually more controversial then I would have previously thought. Is it ok or is it right for a person to marry outside of there race, or religion? To me there is simply one answer and that is YES, because we are told from the beginning of our lives that it is not or place to judge others for what they choose to do with there own lives. In the long run a human only seeks to be happy and content with their lives no matter what others think. If I were to date someone of a different race I would think my parents would have no problem being supportive of my decision. But in reality its easier for me to say that because I ‘am a minority; if the tables are turned and I would have been a white person would my parents still be supportive of my decision. Lets hope so I feel like todays society still has some type of hostility towards interracial relationships, but it isn’t shown as much as it used to. I think that my generation is much more open and more accepting of all kinds of people. We have no problem socializing with people of different religions and people of different races. Back then it were basically unheard of people of different races even socializing. We were in school with people from several places and if we disagree with certain aspects of ones life we learn to just accept it and move on. I think most people’s parents want their children to be happy; however, they choose to live with is up to them because they are the ones getting married not ones parents. I think I would be very supportive of who my kids would want to marry because I would want them to be happy with whoever it is they choose to be with.
