The three philosophical issues I have chosen as representing a personal philosophy of life are: God’s existence, the problem of evil, and free will. I believe that these three issues are intertwined and cannot be separated. God exists and he is benevolent, however everything has an opposite which leads to the problem of evil existing. Therefore since God exists and there is evil, God is the creator who gives humans the power of free will to do good or evil. For me this is an ongoing cycle, that proves that God exists, evil exists, and so does free will. We know the consequences of the destinies of our free will.

The ontological argument is a great source that can be used to support this philosophical issue. Ontological arguments explain the existence of God by first providing us with a definition of God and then the argument goes on to explain why God is a necessary existence. Another source I will use to support this issue will be Anselm’s theory for the existence of God. According to Anselm, God is “that than nothing greater can be deceived.” Anselm had about 7 stages of understanding to support his logic for why God exists. Which will be examined in the final project; but overall I believe in general that in Anselm’s logic he directs his arguments towards the fool for each of his arguments; so in his logic he asserts that since the fool can understand his argument that proves God’s existence.
