Torture is it ethical?
We as human beings are generally kind in nature, but at some point, during our life time there is going to come a time that we either intentionally hurt someone or we unintentionally hurt someone. It doesn’t matter what someone’s view on life is, in some way shape or form it is lead be some sort of guideline that is built on that persons ethical and moral beliefs. Every day to day choice that we make follows our guideline. In today’s world, we have meet a decline of moral standings. We fight amongst ourselves, over issues like abortion, capital punishment, whether we are a Republican or Democrat and we do so uncivilly ruining relationships while it happens.
One of those many issues that we have been arguing over is whether torture can be justified. Torture is defined as “an act of deliberately inflicting severe physical or psychological pain and possibly injury to an organism, usually to one who is physically restrained or otherwise under the torturer's control or custody and unable to defend against what is being done to him or her”. The question of whether torture is justifiable has been an ongoing debate for many years. On one side, the idea of torture is immoral and unjust no matter the purpose or the outcome. And then, on the other side, torture is thought to be necessary to obtain information that could potentially save millions of people.

There are several good valid points made by each side of the debate. I can see and understand why each side believes the way they do, but at the end of the day I am against the use of torture. Each person has their rights as a human that needs to be respected, and torture violates those rights. It can be said that torture is one of the biggest violations of moral civility. The argument of whether torture is right or wrong can bring us to a different question “is it ever ok to cause pain as a way to stop your own pain?”
There are many different reasons why I personally find torture to be unethical but the main reason would have to be because you never know if that person is guilty. The same can be said with capital punishment, there are have been several cases where an innocent person has been killed, but also there have been people that have been given the death penalty who absolutely deserved to be there. The thing that bothers me morally is that nothing
