How do I get maximum benefits from lectures (and why should I bother coming if they’re online anyways)?
- Mini lectures are a useful introduction and overview of main content
- Lectures provide context and example’s
- Give you a feel for the topic- allows you to read, study and engage at tuts and workshops with some understanding
- Lectures are experts in the topic, tells you things that may not be in your readings and you can ask questions
- Lecture recordings are not just for online students, useful for reviews and revision

- Its not just lectures and tutorials private self directed study is essentials for success
- 10 credit points= 10 hours per week ie 3 hours of classes and hours reading, preparations for lectures, tutorials (online min lectures and activities) not taking and researching and writing assigments….
- Time managements is critical there are learning advisors and workshops that can help with this
- Read for meaning! Ask why you are reading this, what you should be looking for in it, look for signposts take notes
