This ethical dilemma was about the work that was paying me and the dream I was pursuing. I always wanted an MBA from an esteemed college. With long working hours at office, it was hard to find time for studies and essays. As the deadlines for college applications were approaching, I started using office hours for my studies. Resultantly, my concentration and productivity at work dropped.
I decided it was time for self-reflection. I introspected, gauged the pros and cons of my current habit of utilizing office hours for my personal benefits and finally decided that I need to be totally devoted to my employer while in office, finish my work, and get back home to pursue my dream. Following this strategy helped me, and finally I made to one of the best b-schools in India. Not to mention, I still hold great relationship with my previous employer.
