TEEN SUICIDE

Everyone seems happy on the outside but are they really on the inside? Depression is like war, you either die or you win. A lot of people follow through but some can’t. We all want someone there for us but we can never find that person. That is one main reason why people think about suicide.

On February 14, 2014, Brody Hayes Bailey was 13 when he took his life. Brody was such a happy person on the outside but on the inside he was depressed. Brody felt like he had no one there for him when everyone was there for him. He could fake a smile any day so everyone thought he was okay. Brody would cut to relieve his pain and he finally couldn’t handle it anymore he took the long painful way out by overdosing and suffocating himself. Brody was in a painful battle that he lost. “ You never really understand a person until you consider to look at their point of view”, To Kill a Mockingbird.

I’ve said it once, I’ve said a thousand times; “I'm fine. I'm okay. That's all just in my head.” but it all got to the best of me & I couldn’t sleep. I was hurt, I was scared, I had no idea what to think or feel at the time. I knew I had no one there for me and I didn’t have anyone to talk to. I had so much pain built up I felt like my body was suffocating and needed air so the resolution I thought of was cutting. I thought slicing through my skin would release all the pain when in reality it only hurt worse. I had five cuts a day for about a month now and it just became normal for me I felt no pain, I couldn’t feel anything, I was numb. I finally reached out for help and when I got the help I needed I knew I would be able to break down the paths that were hell and finally see a healthy future. “ The real reason for not committing suicide is because you always know how swell life gets again after the hell is over”, Ernest Hemingway.

On October 6, 2004 Tammy Leann Taylor took her life. Tammy Taylor was a beautiful young lady she had everything going for her. Tammy’s family loved her dearly and would do anything for her, that’s the only place she felt loved expect when she went to school everything changed. She didn’t have anyone there for her when she walked into those school doors. Everything from school got to the best of her, she started smoking at 15 to relieve some of her stress. We were like two
