Deep Thoughts Response
Everyone is their own person with their own individual beliefs. That is really how everyone is different in their own way. So when somebody makes a statement like, "There is only one correct way to interpret the Bible." they are completely false. Even people in the same family have different interpretations of the Bible and that's the way it should be in my opinion. If everyone had the same opinion on what the Bible says then there would be no diversity in the Catholic faith and diversity is what makes everything the way it is. Plus, if all people saw the Bible the same way then we would all be no better than robots because everyone would live the same way, act the same way and be just like one another and our society would be basically black and white. The way I interpret the Bible and the way my neighbor interprets it are both correct because that is the way we believe the words of the Bible are saying. There cannot be one correct way to see the words of the Bible or else it would be just like a law and that's the main thing about religion that there are no laws to it the way u see it is the "law" in your eyes. Without a variety in beliefs in the church there wouldn't be as much of it outside of church which couldn't be good for anyone.
Does everyone believe in the same things? No, and that is what is so great about our society, diversity. Without diversity then our world would be way too plain to have any fun in. there is diversity in everything we do. Whether it be race, height, weight, everyone is different in their own way and it is great. So when someone says something like, "Beliefs in opposition to common values should be illegal." it angers me because yes there is a common value but there are so many types of common value that it is impossible to do that.
