Your Assignment
Your instructor will choose three of the four situations. Be ready to use little to no English. Also, review or set course goals and review your or set your target end date for your course.
Situation 1 Your new Spanish-speaking friend invites you over to their house to meet their family. Introduce yourself to either their mother or father (the instructor). Remember to use the appropriate type of speech (formal vs. informal).
Situation 2 You go to a party and see someone about your age that you have not met before. Introduce yourself and ask questions to find out who this person is. Ask at least two questions.
Situation 3 Teach the days of the week to your instructor. Make sure you start your list with the first day of the week for native Spanish-speakers. Then prepare to correctly answer in Spanish the questions about what today is, what day tomorrow is, etc.
Situation 4 The following are some sayings in Spanish. Your instructor will ask you to say one or all of them. (Your instructor will be listening to your pronunciation of the vowel sounds: a, e, i, o, u.)
Nunca es tarde para bien hacer; haz hoy lo que no hiciste ayer. (It's never too late to do good; do today what you didn't do yesterday.)
Ningún hombre honesto se hace rico en un momento. (No honest man becomes rich in one moment.)
No dejes para mañana lo que puedas hacer hoy. (Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today.)
No hay mal que por bien no venga. (Every cloud has a silver lining.) (Read these and more sayings at Proverbia.Net)
