The Ideal Person, According to Confuius
(Confucianism). Started by Confucius and the teachings of the Chinese, and tells of the importance of education, and moral values within one’s self. According to Confucius the ideal person should be saint like, knowledgeable, and a gentleman. And the way to achieve this is to learn the teachings of the (Five Great Relationships and the Five Virtues). (Term Paper Warehouse.com). The Five Great Relationships are, (King to subject, Father to son, Husband to wife, older brother to younger brother, and Friend to friend). (wiki.answers.com). The Five Virtues are, (Ren, Li, Shu, Xiao, and Wen). The virtue of (Ren) is having empathy, and benevolence. The virtue of (Li) is having humility, and behaving in a manner, and using words that will allow you to relate to others in any, or different situation. The of virtue of (Shu) is to think how your actions can affect other people the words that comes out of your mouth may hurt, harm or cause others to suffer. The virtue of (Xiao) teaches about the family, and how the relationships, and obligations that each member of the family should have toward each other. The virtue of (Wen) this virtues means having an appreciation for many forms of art such as painting, music, and calligraphy.
