Individual Project

Abstract

In today’s society there are a lot of depict of police, courts and correction. They have been known to be depicting through television show, movies, soap operas and even cartoons. Crime is everywhere and the only way to put barriers around committing crimes is to have individuals that protect, portray and publicly band them from society. This paper will included how TV shows present each component, how each play a positive or negative role, and how day to day is portrayed within those shows or movies.

Law and Order

This show is base entirely in and around New York City. It is realistic yet imaginary drama that takes a looks at crime and justice from a twofold standpoint. The show illustrated the concept of crime that usually adapted from two separate vantage points. The first part of the show was about the investigation of crime by the police and the other part of the show was the prosecution of the crime that took place in the courts. The first half of the show concentrates on the investigation of the crime by the police; the second half follows the prosecution of the crime in court. (Newman, 2008)

The First 48

Now, The First 48 is a documentary of American television series. It is filmed in various cities within the United States. The series show us a real life world on investigation on homicide. These homicides take place in your very own town. These could be individual that you may know or even became the individual. This show gives us an insight on the way police officials handle cases within the first 48 hours of receiving the calls. These individual that commit the crime comes into the local office and then is place under police care. Until they show our detectives that they have committed the crime base off of the use of forensic evidence, witness interviews and other advance detective skills to place that suspect under custody. During the investigation of the suspect I think that those questions were presented correctly and that justice was served if the suspect was capture. (The futon critic, 2007)

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

CSI is base out of Las Vegas. It consists of forensic investigators who are trained to solve crimes by examining the evidence that they are present with at the time on the scene. They are on the case 24/7, polishing the scene, and also collecting the evidence, to help with finding the missing pieces that will solve the unknown. (Willing, 2004) Law enforcement reaction to all
