Dying with Dignity

Allow me to introduce the infamous Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the doctor who shook the
world of medicine by assisting his terminally ill patients in committing suicide. He called this method "mercy killing". Despite his controversial consulting, I think it the right way, but also not at the same time.
First of all, I agree that human beings must have full rights when it is in their own hands, and prematurely ending their lives because they are almost dead seems quite reasonable, as long as the patient's family give the green light to end their loved
ones life. For example, Dr. Kevorkian consulted his first patients family by
explaining the extent of the illness, and that he is terminally ill forever.
They then agreed to end his life by releasing Carbon Monoxide into his oxygen mask.
Another reason why I support mercy killing is because of the financial plight the patients family will face. Beds in hospitals nowadays are not that cheap, a matter of fact, one hospital bedroom per night is almost twice the price of a five-star hotel in Los Angeles per night! And this is for basic care, basic meaning a bed with a couple of machines connected to the patients lifeless body.
Despite supporting Mr. Kevorkian's idea, I just have a strange feeling it is just, wrong. In some religions for example, mercy killing might be an act of suicide, and in my own religion, there is a specific quote in the holy Quran, stating that if you were to commit suicide, you are basically buying a one way ticket to hell.
Mr. Kevorkian's routine is not a bad idea at all, and I personally think that more countries should allow mercy killing to be legal. Despite some religions such as mines strictly underlining the consequences of suicide, I think it is the right way out of
