Ebola has been one of the main topics in many hospital settings and in any medical practice. This has been going around since February 2014, and still there is no cure for it. This has been one of the deadliest diseases that have been going around, killing about 8,000 people. It will cause a high fever and severe internal bleeding. You can get it through contact of bodily fluids from an affected person. Ebola and the Vast Viral Universe, 2014, talks about the different ways a virus comes about, and how it works to evade the immune system (Ebola and the vast viral Universe, 2014). One of the biggest defenses of Ebola is that it destroys the body’s new pathogen by blocking the release of interferon, giving it an advantage to grow and spread (Ebola and the vast viral Universe, 2014)..
The Ebola and the Vast Viral universe article, 2014 used phrases such as “viruses like Ebola have figured out how to slip in and out of cells without kicking up a fuss by cloaking themselves in a layer of greasy lipids stolen from the host cell membrane, rather as you might force a pill down a pet’s throat by smearing it in butter. Most people have animals and can understand giving the pet medicine by forcing it or by covering it with some type of food knowing the animal will eat it. I also like how they say it is an annoying parasite (Ebola and the vast viral Universe, 2014). I feel like this article was written for the common person to read and to understand. I believe this article covered the field in microbiology significantly. It is explaining of how hard it is to find a cure for Ebola in a matter months, especially since this disease has not been popular and that there is no medicine or vaccine for it. The scientist explain what they have to do, what research they have to go through for just this one disease, and still have to deal with many other diseases that have come about since the Ebola outbreak(Ebola and the vast viral Universe, 2014).
