Homeostasis is defined as “same state.” The homeostatic mechanism is a negative feedback mechanism. Your body maintains a constant state of temperature and balance through out the body’s life cycle. Changes occur environmentally or even internally is when homeostasis changes. The main focus for the body is to maintain regularity in temperature, blood glucose, and hydration. Body temperatures it the most important function that needs regulation for the human life cycle. Humans are called endotherms, which means we regulate our body temperatures around 98.6 degrees. The fact ectothermic mammals can also have very warm blood during the day by sitting in the sun or even conducting muscle activity. The human body finds ways to regulate this body temperature (Anatomy & Physoilogy, 2013).
The Thermoregulatory Centre in the hypothalamus controls a human’s body temperature. The main focus of this is to monitor a body’s temperature and release hormones once activated. The skin starts to feel changes in external temperatures that can effect a body if not wearing adequate clothing. In the terms of cold weather a body can go through drastic changes to regulate these body temperatures. A humans inner core will start to decrease in body temperature causing the hypothalamous to activate hormones to help raise the internal body temperature (Anatomy & Physoilogy, 2013).
