Honey bees are dying rapidly due to number of factors which had resulted to colony collapse disorder (CCD). It had been discovered the collapse in honey bee colonies has been directly associated with the use of neonicotinoids. Neonicotinoids is the largest form of insecticide used by farming cooperation’s across the world. However, they have disastrous effects on the existence of Honey Bees. This has been further emphasised by Chensheng Lu, which conducted an experiment at the University of Harvard to see the direct correlation between neonicotinoids and the death of Honey bees due to Colony Collapse Disorder. Lu, stated’ we demonstrated that neonicotinoids are highly likely to be responsible for triggering 'colony collapse disorder' in honeybee hives that were healthy prior to the arrival of winter,” Honey bees are extremely important because, they provide three quarters of world food crops through the use of pollinations. This is extremely vital because, without pollinators the rise of food would have increased and this would have resulted in many people developing deficiency in vitamins and calcium’s which are provided by the crops the Bees pollinate. Neonicotinoids are damaging to honey bees because they destroy ‘memory, cognition and behaviour of honey bees which inhibits them from functioning efficiently and pollinating the crops. (Also, Honey bees provide 78% of crop pollination. (Ollerton et al, 2011).There has been a link which has associated with the decline in Honey bees to the decline in flowering plants such as poppies and bluebells to the landscape of the British countryside. This reduces the pleasing g aesthetic nature associated with these landscapes (Willis and Garrod, 1993; Akbar et al, 2003). Pollinators such as honey bees provide the UK economy with (£7.8BN) (Breeze, 2012 –Chapter 4).

Figure 1 suggests Honey bees provide enormous value to the economy this is depicted by the value per annum they provide in England which is 84.9%.
