Title : It is a must to be an Organ Donor!

Introduction

Attention Statement

:

How many of you are 18 years old and above? How many of you are free from major disabilities? If you are rising up your hand, you have the right to choose whether to save people's life by making an organ or tissue donation or bury them with soil once you are dead.

Purpose Statement : To persuade my audience to give someone the ultimate gift after you have left the world – organ or tissue donation. There are 4 main reasons why you should become an organ donor. These reasons include it can save countless of life, the needs of patients, it is an easy and fast procedure and lastly religions support and encourage organ donation.

Transition : I'm sure that every one of you is waiting for my strong evidence. Let's now begin with my first point, it save countless of life. Listen carefully here; it might save more than 1 person's life.

Main Idea 1

:

Organ donation is the best choice to manage your organ after human being die since it can saves countless of life.

Supporting Idea : Upon death, you can choose to donate, bury or cremate your organ. If you selfishly choose to bury or cremate your organ, you are just wasting it by letting it to be decomposed or burned instead of using it to save people. An organ donor is able to save up to 8 lives while a tissue donor can improve or save up to 50 lives.

Example : In Hong Kong, one person had saves 3 lives with the donation heart, liver and kidneys. In our country, Winnie Chen is a patient who is waiting for heart transplantation. Despite her critical condition, she pledged to be an organ donor. She successfully donated her kidney and cornea which saves two lives after she was dead.

Transition : After we aware that how powerful an organ donor can save countless of life, do you know that how many patients are still waiting in the hospital and how long they have been waiting for?

Main Idea 2 : An organ donor can help to meet the needs of patients who are highly demanding for organ transplantation.

Supporting Idea : For every 16 minutes, there exists a new name, which is very unlucky to be added to the national transplant waiting list. Everyday an average of 17 life loss while waiting for organ transplantation. There is a wide gap between the number of organs available to be transplanted and the number of organs needed by patients.
