Abstract:

This lab is important because it gives a better understanding of weather and climate and how it affects our lives and futures. To learn more about the subject we figured out the condensation temperature using the metal cup and ice. We found that the dew point outside is higher than the dew point inside. These methods that we learned can be applied to learning more about our weather and climate and give us a better perspective about our environment.

Introduction: Global climate change is both the earth warming and changes in our climate system. Earth’s average temperature many years ago was not a hot topic in the scientific and political communities like it is today. In this lab we learn more about weather - the set of all extant phenomena in a given region of the atmosphere at a particular. In this lab we measure the dew point which teaches us about temperature and humidity.

Methods: In this lab the materials you will need are: a metal cup, a bucket of ice, a thermometers to measure. First you must fill a metal cup with warm tap water. The temperature should be 10 degrees Celsius (if its winter) and 24 degrees (if its summer). Record the initial temperature and continually add ice. Then record the temperature at the first sign of condensation on the outside of the metal cup. Repeat the steps outside. Then your teacher will walk you through how the weather station works.

Q1.in the excel sheet Table 1: In this table is the summarized dew point measurement results of the roof top air and lab air in a table of our group and all the other groups.

Graph 1: This graph shows the temperature and precipitation for last week 10/13 through 10/22. I do remember the weather being all up and down from cold to hot which gave me headaches. The coldest points of each day are the late night and early mornings (Q5a). When looking at the graph my guess is that 10/19/16 had the highest average temperature, it contains the highest point of the graph and most of the day is the higher than any other days’ peak temperature. If you can’t tell by the graph you can take the average of each single day (using the excel AVG formula) and compare and contrast all the days. (Q5b)

Graph 2: This graph shows the average annual temperature change with year based on the QC weather station. Winter and summer temperatures on average have
